Family Photo Day

This week I was able to do family photos. Considering the crazy wind going on in Waikoloa at the beach where we decided to take them I would say they turned out quite well! They were a lovely family, their little girl was so adorable as you can see from the pictures! She was smiley for at least an hour which at her age is really impressive. All in all I would say it was a successful photo session.

Making scarves!

This is a pic of the brown patterned scarf I made!

My good friend Lianne has this awesome scarf! I have been coveting it ever since I saw it!!! It's so cute, it's a navy and white stripe in a t-shirt material. I decided that I can make scarves like that! So I went to the fabric store and bought yards and yards of material! I got a lovely turquoise and a fun brown and white print. Today was one of those cool Hawaiian days, when a tank-top and scarf are perfect! I'll take more pictures when I have finished making all of them. In the pic I'm wearing the turquoise one and in the background you can see the brown and white print!

I had a photo shoot this week with Stephanie Bolton. She is a local artist and friend of mine, we went to school together. She is currently working on a new project and needed some pictures!Stephanie was an absolute joy to work with, she is as beautiful as she is talented. If you get a chance check out her website, she is a prolific painter and is always working on new projects. Check out her blog. She also has a lot of her art online be sure to stop by.
This was the first shoot we have a few more that we are planning I will keep you updated as we do more shoots! I think these photos on the land bridge are super dramatic and bold. There is another series that I will post next that make me think of the mermaid statue in Denmark.

little lemon

When Jon was still in Kona, we made lemon sorbet, it was so delicious, we got the lemons from Pakas parents house.Their lemon tree was chock full of lovely yellow lemons. I used the hollowed out lemons as little cups. They were so cute!

Here is the recipe for the lemon sorbet, it's delicious I personally like sorbet a bit tangier, so I would not use as much sugar.

Lemon sorbet

Ingredients
500g caster sugar (powdered sugar)
250ml lemon juice (6-8 lemons)
1 lemon , unwaxed, zested

Difficulty and servings
Makes 1.2 litres

Preperation and cooking times
Ready in 20 minutes, plus churning

Put the sugar in a pan with 750ml water. Heat gently until the sugar dissolves then simmer for a couple of minutes. Stir in the lemon juice and zest then leave to cool.
Churn the liquid in an ice cream machine to sorbet consistency. Serve a couple of scoops per person sprinkled with a few strands of lemon zest.

brand spanking new!

After following friends blogs for years and admiring other bloggers, I have decided to have my own! What a fun little adventure.
I decided that I will post things that I am currently working on, whether it be earrings, invitations or photos! Hope you enjoy!

This invitation is the most recent project, a baby shower invitation for my friends Liah and Case! They have a jungle theme so I incorperated it into the design.
