Yummiest fish and chips ever!!!

We had fish and chips at Salty's Restaurant in Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight. They were so yummy, but beware it wasn't the cheapest place, although we probably could have split one it was so big! Great ambiance though.

Hampton Court Palace

This lovely little place... is located a mere 15 minute drive from where we are staying. It has gorgeous gardens as you can see and is situated on the Thames. Hampton Court Palace is where Henry VIII lived with all of his wives. We only got a garden pass since they have over 60 acres of gardens to stroll through. I figured we could always go back and see the inside on a rainy day but since it was so sunny we opted to stay outside!

These beautiful Garden Roses are for Annie!

Cruising the Thames

The weather in England, actually most of Europe has been very unusual, they are experiencing a stunning Indian Summer! We have had sun sun and some more sun! Sunday we went for a little cruise on the Thames. Our fearless captain in his very stylish hat did a fantastic job.

It was such a perfect day, we started at around 11. From Chertsy we sailed up the Thames through a few locks. We ended up in Kingston where we picked up a few extra passengers and then headed back down the river.

Picking apples at the vicarage

The day I arrived in the UK was a busy one. First we went with Maddy to pick out her new school uniform! Then we picked three bags of cooking apples for Jon's Aunt Helen, I hear she makes a wicked chutney. I hope I can get the recipe.....

I think I will try to make an apple and ginger cake today, I got a recipe from Waitrose (Like our Safeway) yesterday. I will post pics when I make it..... and the recipe if it turns out to be really yummy!

There are so many apples in the yard if anyone has a great apple recipe please feel free to email it to me. We are overflowing with fresh apples right now.
